So You Think You Can Dance?

While I contend that everything you need to know about dancing can be learned from watching Fox television, Margret disagreed. So, tutu on waist, we sent Ava off to her first dance class today. Let's hope she doesn't make the same mistake I made, switching from Tap to Jazz, as I've regretted it my whole life.

You can see that Mae Mae was not too happy to be left out of the fun.

Because, Why?

Somethings happen everyday that are so commonplace, yet leave you completely dumbfounded when trying to explain it to a 2-year old. Ava got her first bloody nose and was just not satisfied with anyway I tried to explain it.

Ava: What happened?
Me: It's a bloody nose.
Ava: Why?
Me: Because you hurt it.
Ava: It doesn't hurt.
Me: No, but you did hurt it.
(points blood)
Ava: What this?
Me: It's blood.
Ava: Can I eat it?
Me: No
Ava: Why not?
Me: Because its not good for you.
Ava: Why not?
Me: Because...Because...its not good for you.
Ava: Why are you putting that in your nose?
(points to tissue)
Me: To stop the bleeding?
Ava: Can I eat it?
Me: No.
Ava: I need one for my other nose.
(points to other nostril)
Me: Ok.
Ava: You want one in your nose, like Ava?
Me: Ok.

Happy Father's Day (to Me)

I was awoken today with a loud "Happy Birthday Father's Day" from Ava. She was excited to give me a Father's day staple: a hand made card with glitter glue and cutouts. Absolutely perfect. Mae Mae joined in with a couple of loud squeaks and a surprisingly well crafted card. I'm amazed at such a young age how similar her handwriting is to Margret's. Because it was my day, we got to do a few things that I wanted to do: take a nap and eat cereal for dinner (although, from the looks of it, I should have had a V8).
